Sightseeing tour of Krakow by Melex

During this approx. 90-minute tour you will be able to visit the most interesting and well-known places, monuments of architecture and art in the former capital of Poland, the City of Literature, the city of artists, the centre of higher education and research centres, and last but not least a magical place full of legends and beautiful history….

During the tour you will be able to refer to Krakow’s medieval history and experience the specific atmosphere of the city. In the Old Town you will get to know the Barbican, the Florian Gate, the Main Square dating back to the Middle Ages, the Royal Road, the seat of the Polish kings, the Wawel Royal Castle and the Cracow Planty.

Then you will visit the extraordinary district of our city, Kazimierz, a pre-war centre of Jewish history, culture and art and science. You will look at the synagogues, charming squares and beautiful streets.

This is a true journey back in time, during which you can learn about the customs and daily life of the former Jewish community living in this district, which was blown out like a candle flame by the outbreak of World War II……

The next part of the tour covers Podgórze, where the Krakow Ghetto was established in 1941. It is here that you will be able to learn about the cruel, yet important history of the time of World War II for the city and the Polish and Jewish people, especially by visiting Ghetto Heroes Square, Oskar Schindler’s Factory, which you may remember from Steven Spielberg’s award-winning film Schindler’s List. It is in this district, though once again vibrant with new, contemporary and young life, that time has stopped….

Salt Mine in Wieliczka

Cost: 45€

On 13th and 14th of October

The Salt Mine in Wieliczka, entered in the national register of monuments in 1976, a priceless monument of material culture of the world, entered in 1978 on the First UNESCO Heritage List, is located close to Krakow and due to its unique climate has been attracting visitors from all over the world for many years.

The salts extracted in the mine date back to the Miocene. Underground, you will see the extraordinary natural, cultural and artistic interiors of the salt works of art. The breath-taking St Kinga Chapel, the salt lakes, kilometres of narrow, charming underground passages, in combined with the interesting stories of the best guides, whose knowledge is knowledge is supported by many years of experience and a sincere passion for this place.

This is a guarantee of an unforgettable experience which you will remember for years to come. Thanks to that, the Salt Mine in Wieliczka is a definitely a must-see place on your tour of the Krakow area.

Auschwitz-Birkenau tour

On 13th and 14th of October

Cost: 40€

A unique informational, humanist, social, cultural, historical, human and spiritual experience, a trip to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum, the former largest German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, established in mid-1940 on the outskirts of Oświęcim city. A place of persecution and execution of the Polish community, Roma, Soviet prisoners of war, Byelorussians, Ukrainians, Czechs, French and, above all, the final, mostly direct extermination of the Jews living in the occupied territories during the Second World War.

It is the largest extermination site, a symbol of terror, genocide and the Shoah.

The price includes transport of guests from the indicated place or places, a ticket authorising entrance to the Museum, a professional guide, transport between the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps, and return transport to the indicated address. Tour time is approximately 7 hours.

Additional option

One Day Tour (for those wishing to visit two places in one day)

Cost: 75€

For those wishing to visit both places mentioned above, there is also a so-called “one day tour”, i.e. a trip to Wieliczka and Auschwitz on the same day. The planned duration of the tour is about 11 hours.

The tour will take approximately 11 hours.
